BMI - What you need to know

BMI Defined

What is BMI(Body Mass Index)? If you have ever been physically active in your life and skilled for something or have been to the doctors for your annual physical then you have probably heard the term (body mass catalog) or body mass index. Even though most people have heard this term used before, very few truly realize what it means. For most people knowing about it or knowing their own score has little to no bearing on their every day life, but if they understood what it means and how it can tell you important things about your health then they may well pay more interest to it.

BMI Measurement

The score is a way to measure the amount of body fat that a person has based on their excess weight and height. It is not a precise measurement of body fat, but somewhat of an estimate based on average of the population. Once you have calculated your score you can then compare it to the score graph and this will give you your BMI number. This number will let you know if you are regarded as obese, average or underpounds. BMI(Body Mass index) Calculation -The calculations needed to figure out ones score is really very simple, and even a young kid with simple math competencies could figure it out. You need various numbers before you start out which are your height, and excess weight. Your bodyweight needs to be in pounds not kilograms, and your height has to be in inches not feet. once you have those two numbers figured out you can now enter them into the formulation to figure out your score(body mass index). You enter the height into the formula you need to sq. it so for example if you are 60 inches tall you would multiply 60x60 which would equal 3600 and it is this number we input into the method. below is an example of the method with an example of a fat and height. Height = 60 inches bodyweight = 150 pounds we are going to sq the height so multiply 60x60 = 3600 now we are going to enter everything into the formulation. excess weight (divided by) height squared then multiplied by 703(this number is a constant and is the same no matter what your fat or height is) so our formula based on the over excess weight and height numbers would look like this. 150/3600 x 703 = 29.3 So based on the our calculation our example BMI is 29.3.

The Body Mass Index is calculated with the formula weight in kilogramm divided by height to square. To make it easy for visitor of your web page to calculate the BMI, use the Free BMI Script by BMI-Club . Allow me to call your attention to Basal Metabolic Rate.

BMI - What does it mean?

What Does Body Mass Index Score Mean? In arrangement to know what the score or number means one has to look at the BMI graph, but usually a score of 18.5 or under indicates that you are underexcess weight. If you score is between 18.5 and 24.9 then you are inside of the regular fat range for your bodyweight and height. If your score falls between 25 to 29.9 you are regarded to be overweight.
